Community Outreach

Community Outreach

Community outreach is an integral part of our team approach to patient care. From participating in local events like Freedom Day USA where we provide free dental care to our local veterans, military men and women and their families, to our donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to various local shelters, businesses and nonprofit organizations, it is important to us to have a heart of service for our fellow community members. For your information, below is a list of some of the service we’ve been a part of.

Freedom Day 2017

The Freedom Day USA event was started five years ago by a dentist in West Virginia in light of the fact that most American Veterans receive zero Dental benefits because they must be 100% disabled, a former prisoner of war, or had the dental issue while serving to receive any coverage. Furthermore, over 1 million Veterans have no health or dental insurance, and no access to Veterans hospitals – not to mention that IF they have access and IF coverage is available to them there a 31.2% delay in care due to costs.

This is the fourth year that Prescott Dentistry has joined this national “thank you” movement. On October 12th, the entire Prescott Dentistry team donated their services and skills to provide over $35,000.00 in FREE dentistry to our local Veterans and military men and women. Forty-one patients received treatments ranging from dental cleanings and fillings to extractions, crowns, root canals and Free Whitening. Thumb Butte Dental Lab partnered with our team this year enabling us to do even more for our patients: fix partials, repair old dentures and even provide a couple of Veterans with brand new dentures!

ACT Kids Health Fair Event

On September 26th, 2015 our Dental team joined a group of Arizona Healthcare Professionals and volunteers to participate in the 25th annual ACT Kids Health Fair. The Arizona Coalition for Tomorrow (ACT) is a not-for profit organization of concerned citizens committed to improving the health and education readiness of low-income children. The goal: to help provide a healthy future for Arizona’s children. The annual ACT Kids Health Fair serves at-risk children who are eligible for metropolitan Phoenix Head Start programs, but lack appropriate medical clearances. The all-volunteer event addresses the full spectrum of health requirements: transportation to and from the children’s neighborhoods, all appropriate dental/medical screenings and immunizations, establishing and updating medical records, and arranging emergency or continuing care as needed. Over 20,000 children have been screened to date.

Freedom Day USA Event

On September 10, 2015 businesses across the United States joined Freedom Day USA, a national Thank You Movement for the members of our military and their immediate families, along with Veterans. For the third consecutive year, your Dental Family at Prescott Dentistry was honored with the opportunity to step up and give back to the community. As most of you know, our own Dr. Nathan Thompson spent five years in the Army providing dentistry to our soldiers. CPT Thompson’s personal commitment to the US Military and the families that directly support them is one of the MANY reasons Prescott Dentistry and its’ team members were excited to participate again the Freedom Day USA event. Prescott Dentistry was one of 700 business in 32 states to participate. Together we provided over 4 million dollars of free services to 20,000 military members and their families – Prescott Dentistry alone provided an astounding $13.500 i free dentistry to our local Veterans. A very successful third year!
