If you’re looking for holiday fun, Prescott, Arizona is the place to be! Prescott holds a wide variety of family-friendly events that are a wonderful way to celebrate the winter holidays. There are a number of activities and events offered for people of all ages, including Christmas parades, light shows, and even a gingerbread house decorating event. Some of our favorite holiday events in Prescott are listed below!
Acker Night
WHEN: Friday, December 8, from 5pm to 8:30pm
WHERE: Downtown Prescott
WHAT: A family friendly, Prescott tradition that supports local businesses and musicians. Acker Night is in honor of Mr. Acker, who supplied many school children with school and musical supplies. The goal of the event is to keep music thriving in Prescott, especially for the youth of the community. Many local businesses will be offering live performances from local artists.
HOW MUCH: Free Event at Participating Businesses
White Christmas Musical
WHEN: Thursday, December 14 through Sunday, December 17 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
WHERE: Yavapai Performing Arts Center, 1100 E Sheldon St, Prescott, AZ 86301
WHAT: A musical depicting two sisters on their way to a Christmas show in Vermont, as well as two former army veterans who took on a musical career after the war. The performance features music from Irving Berlin and is an uplifting, holiday musical.
HOW MUCH: Tickets Begin at $25 per person
“The Nutcracker” by YMCA Youth Ballet
WHEN: Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am
WHERE: Prescott Public Library, 215 E. Goodwin St., Prescott, AZ 86303
WHAT: Approximately 35 dancers, ranging in age from 5 to 15, will give a 40 minute performance of “The Nutcracker.”
HOW MUCH: Free!
Cookie House Decorating for Kids
WHEN: Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:00 and from 3:30 to 5:00PM
WHERE: Prescott Public Library, 215 E. Goodwin Street, Prescott, AZ 86303
WHAT: The 10th Annual Cookie House Decorating event. Kids of all ages come together to decorate gingerbread houses at a family friendly event. Participants must be registered in advance.
HOW MUCH: Free!
